(Chicago, IL) -- Carlos Carrasco tossed seven shutout innings with 11 strikeouts to pace the Indians to a 4-0 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. Carrasco improved to 8-and-4, holding Chicago to two hits and a walk.
Cleveland put up a three spot in the fourth inning capped with a Yan Gomez two-run double. Michael Brantley smacked a solo shot a frame later to end the scoring in the opener of the four-game series.
Lucas Giolito took the loss, giving up four runs on four hits and four walks in five innings. Giolito is 4-and-7.
