Cleveland - The Cleveland Indians and Sports Travel and Tours are offering trips to Cooperstown, NY to be a part of history at the 2018 Hall of Fame Induction of Jim Thome.
Cooperstown will host its annual Hall of Fame Weekend from July 27-30, with the Induction Ceremony taking place Sunday, July 29 at the Clark Sports Center.
Other events this weekend include the July 28th Parade of Legends and the July 30th Legends of the Game Roundtable discussion event with the inductees. More than 50 Hall of Famers are expected to return for Hall of Fame Weekend.
Thome is the Cleveland Indians’ second player to enter the Hall of Fame on his first ballot (Bob Feller, 1962). He joins Chipper Jones, Vladimir Guerrero, Trevor Hoffman, Alan Trammell and Jack Morris as members of the Class of 2018.
After making his MLB debut on Sept. 4, 1991 with the Indians, Thome played a majority of his 22 total seasons for the Tribe (1991-2002, 2011) becoming one of the greatest players to wear a Cleveland uniform.
