(Akron) - One person been found dead after a house fire near downtown Akron.
Akron fire crews were called out about 4:45 a.m. Monday to what they say was a large house on Grant Street, near Thornton Street, rented some University of Akron students.
The fire was in a second floor bedroom. Once the fire was out, Akron fire crews found a body in that bedroom.
Two of the other four tenants got out safely, and the fourth was not home at the time.
Initial reports from the Akron Fire Department said the deceased was a student, but later it was determined the deceased was not a student
No cause for the fire as of yet.
