(Cleveland) -- The Indians scored four runs in the eighth inning to grab a 7-5 win over the Rangers in the first-of-three at Progressive Field. Jose Ramirez doubled home the go-ahead run and Yonder Alonso capped the rally with a two-run single to put Cleveland up three.
Francisco Lindor had three hits, an RBI and scored twice in the win. Cody Allen gave up a run in the ninth, but got credit for the win.
The Indians are 15-and-12 after ending a two-game losing streak. Chris Martin took the loss.
Robinson Chirinos homered and Nomar Mazara drove in two for Texas, which fell to 11-and-19.
The series continues Tuesday night with Mike Clevinger starting for the Tribe, and Doug Fister for Texas. First pitch at 6:10 p.m. on 100.7 WMMS.
