CLEVELAND -- Multiple reports indicate the Indians have agreed to a Minor League deal with veteran outfielder Melky Cabrera. The deal is pending a physical for the 33-year-old free agent outfielder.
According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Cabrera will report to the Indians player development complex in Goodyear, Ariz.
The move to add Cabrera should help the Tribe both offensively and defensively as the veteran slugger can hit for power and has played outfield for 13 seasons.
The Indians open a quick two-game weekday series on Tuesday at Progressive Field against the Chicago Cubs.
