(Beachwood) -- A section of I-271 now bears the name of a fallen Beachwood firefighter. State officials unveiled signs marking a four-mile stretch of highway as the "Captain Michael Palumbo Memorial Highway." The veteran first responder and father of five died last year of occupational brain cancer. His death sparked a state law offering workers' compensation to firefighters suffering from occupational cancer.
