(CLEVELAND) – The American League honored two players this week for MLB’s annual Player of the Week Award and both of them play for the Indians. Tribe second baseman Jason Kipnis and right-hander Corey Kluber took home Co-AL Player of the Week Award honors.

Kipnis hit .524 last week going 11-for-21 with one home run, four RBIs and he also score five runs.

Kluber went 2-0 in two starts last week with an ERA of 0.56 striking out 11 hitters in 16 innings pitched. During Sunday’s 2-0 win over the Washington Nationals, Kluber went eight shutout innings.

Earlier this season Indians utility man Ryan Raburn and right-hander Justin Masterson also took home American League Player of the Week honors.

The Indians open up a three-game weekday series Monday evening against the Kansas City Royals.
