A 200-year-old tavern has a new home in Connecticut after it was moved in pieces from Massachusetts. The historic Woodbury Tavern was stored inside a barn and the owners wanted to get rid of it and so they placed an ad on the Internet. Bill Butterly of Guilford, Connecticut answered the ad and purchased the tavern. He had the entire nine-room tavern loaded into trucks and moved to its new home in Connecticut. Butterly says he plans to reconstruct the tavern and use it as a home on his Connecticut property.
What's the history part of the tavern? In 1825, the Marquis de Lafayette visited the tavern to honor Revolutionary War veterans and widows during a tour of the country.
