(INDEPENDENCE) -- Young and inexperienced, but excited to get the 2012-2013 season underway. That pretty much sums up the feelings surrounding this year's Cleveland Cavaliers.

On Monday, Oct. 1, the Cavs held their annual Media Day at the Cleveland Clinic Courts and while their roster might be young, the new group of players expressed how anxious they are to get training camp started.

Along with Rookie of the Year Award winner Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers top draft pick Dion Waiters spoke with members of the media, as well as head coach Byron Scott, forward Anderson Varejao, new center Tyler Zeller and guard Dan "Boobie" Gibson.

During the 2011-12 lockout shortened season the Cavaliers went 21-45. This season the goals are still unclear, but Scott and Irving appear to have high expectations for the wine and gold. Gibson said he thinks this is the year that Irving's game will really take off.

Alonzo Gee was also on hand for Media Day. Gee, 25, just re-signed with the Cavaliers in the off-season after going through free agency.

The Cavs open the pre-season on Monday, Oct. 8 at Quicken Loans Arena. The regular season gets underway on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Quicken Loans Arena when the Cavaliers welcome in the Washington Wizards for the season-opener.

As part of Media Day, Cavs players met with members of the media, took pictures and shot promos for FOX Sports Ohio.

Training camp opens on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Cleveland Clinic Courts.
