(Brooklyn)- It turns out that when Browns defensive end Marcus Benard crashed his three-wheel motorcycle Monday, he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Benard has been charged by Brooklyn Police with reckless operation and driving under suspension. Sergeant Scott Mielke tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 that Benard lost control of his Can-Am Roadster heading north on I-71 near the West 65th Street exit.

The cycle hit the guardrail and Benard was tossed 241 feet from the bike. The bike then skidded across the highway, but was not struck by another vehicle.

Benard suffered a broken hand and his season status is uncertain.

The case has been assigned to Parma Municipal Court and Benard is to appear on October 18.
