• Accoording to Patrick McManamon of ESPN.com the Browns are expected to interview Vanderbilt coach James Franklin. Franklin 41, has led the Commodores to consecutive nine win seasons and has won 24 games in 3 seasons at Vanderbilt.
  • The Browns are also interested in Broncos OC Adam Gase, but will not interview for any job until Denver's post season run is over.
The James Franklin news is interesting to me. Its a fresh name in the search and someone who is taken a team that was bad longer than the Browns have been and turned it into a respectable program. Outside David Shaw of Stanford I think Franklin would be a the hire.
The OC in Denver is Peyton Manning and there is a good chance you won't interview him until late January or early February so to me Gase is not really a viable candidate at this point.
