Finally!! a mock draft that doesn't have the Browns taking John Football. Unfortunately they have them still taking a quarterback and that QB is Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater.

I do like Bridgewater more than Manziel, but he is another smaller QB who flourished in a gimmick type offense in college. My biggest beef is not with these specific QB's, but with the teams drafting these players in the top 5 who really don't deserve it then start them as a rookie.

I think we can all agree that Peyton Manning is the best QB drafted since 1998. Since 98. I believe there were 5 quarterbacks worthy of being drafted top 5 and they are Manning, Vick, Palmer, Stafford, and Andrew Luck. Do either Manziel or Bridgewater seem like they have the NFL potential the quaterbacks above did? Now that's 5 qb's in 16 drafts I believe were worthy and you can contend Vick and Palmer did not live up to expectations.

There are 20 starting quarterbacks that were drafted in the 1st round highlighted by Manning, Rodgers, Newton, Roethlisberger, Luck, and Phillip Rivers. Other 1st rounders who start are Flacco, Cutler, and Stafford. Then there are the failed picks in my opinion such as Weeden, Ponder, Bradford, Tannehill, Sanchez, Geno Smith, Locker, and Blain Gabbert. Who in that last group do you think was not a reach? I don't know one person outside of the team that drafted them thought they were picked when they should have been.

The problem is the NFL is a "QB driven league" and these teams have so much pressure to get "your franchise" they reach and reach badly. Christian Ponder? c'mon.

All I'm saying is don't reach Browns. Now both these guys can turn out to be Tom Brady, but Tom Brady was drafted in the seventh round. There are several other players who would be much safer and still have a solid impact this season. OLB Khalil Mack, WR Sammy Watkins, or Tackle Jake Mathews from Texas A&M. It's unfortunate because the Browns need A QB and I like Hoyer, but 2 starts? that hurts. I believe you can go into next season with Hoyer as your starter and compete. At least compete as much as they could with Teddy Bridgewater.
