1.    Irma hit Florida over the weekend and the Category 4 Storm had sustained winds of 130 mph.  The hurricane moved west over the weekend towards the gulf side including Clearwater Beach, the home of John Lanigan.  What are your thoughts on the latest news on Irma?  How well have authorities handled the situation?

 

2.   It was sixteen years ago at this time when the greatest terror attack happened on U.S. soil. Are we safer now than 16 years ago? Do most U.S. citizens take time to reflect on what happened?

 

3.      Not only did the Browns play the Steelers on Sunday, members of the city’s safety forces entered the field with the team and stood with players during the National Anthem. What do you think about the police and players banding together? 

 

4.      The Browns actually played a game as well on Sunday with DeShone Kizer making his first NFL start.  What are your thoughts on the game itself?

 

5.      Hand in Hand, A Benefit for Hurricane Relief airs tomorrow night at 8 on KISS-FM and iHeartRadio in addition to all the major TV networks including ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.  The charity telethon will feature appearances by Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Drake, Blake Shelton, Jamie Foxx, George Strait, Ryan Seacrest, George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Orprah Winfrey and more.  What do you think about all the major media companies coming together for a common cause?

 

6.      Holly Neher, 16-years-old, threw a touchdown pass on the first play of her first varsity game playing on the boys team at Hollywood Hills High School in Florida.  She played on the school’s flag football team for two years before making the varsity team.   How do you feel about a girl playing on the varsity football team?

 

7.      O'mei Chinese Cuisine in Santa Cruz, California has been shut down after an investigation found out the owner donated $500 to ex-KKK leader David Duke's 2016 senatorial campaign. An article in Indybay, an independent media center, exposed Northern California businesses that donated to Duke. Among those listed was Roger Grigsby, the owner of the Chinese restaurant. Grigsby was forced to close his doors after the news came out and employees and customers began to boycott. The restaurant has been open for 38 years. How do you feel about Grigsby being outed?

 

8.      South Carolina residents Corey Payne and his fiancée, Kayla Harris are suing Amazon claiming the solar eclipse glasses they purchased on line did not prevent their vision from being harmed.  Do you think this is just the tip of the iceberg hearing about eye vision problems as a result of the eclipse?  Should Amazon be held liable?

 

9.      Apple is expected to reveal their new iPhones and an updated Apple Watch in less than two weeks on September 12th.   Look for updated versions of the 7 and 7 plus in addition to a new iPhone 8 which has been rumored to cost $1,000.  Do you expect people to line up to be the first to get the new iPhone 8?

 

10.   Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich and Colorado Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper are reportedly considering a run for the White House as a unity ticket in 2020.  Do you think it’s possible in American politics to see a Democrat and a Republican on the same ticket running for President of the United States?
