(Cleveland) Monday was sentencing day for Tirrell Edwards. The 42-year-old was convicted by a jury last week on charges for the October 2023 shooting death of his fiancée 46-year-old Amanda Williams, inside the couple's Warrensville Heights home. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Steven Gall sentenced Edwards to 24-years to life in prison. Once released, Edwards will be on 5-years of post-release-control, or probation. During the trial, Edwards took the stand during which he testified that Williams was the aggressor, and she grabbed a knife from the kitchen. He says he acted in self-defense when he shot her six times. Prior to sentencing, Williams' brother Joey Lewis was emotional when he asked Edwards how could he do that? And Williams daughter said she'll never be able to call her mother and talk to her about her life. Edwards did not speak before sentencing. Offered no public apology for what he'd done.
