Elyria Township officials are asking residents to stay home during the Total Solar Eclipse.

The astronomical event will be viewable from northeast Ohio on April 8th.

The Elyria Township website says the area is expecting out-of-town visitors, which could cause traffic issues when everyone leaves after the event.

Township officials warn this could cause an increase in response times for first responders if there are emergencies.
