A former IRS contractor who stole and leaked Donald Trump's tax records is headed to prison.

38-year-old Charles Littlejohn pleaded guilty last year to unauthorized disclosures of income tax returns. On Monday, he received the maximum sentence possible, 5 years, followed by 3 years of supervised release and a $5,000 fine.

In fall of 2020, Littlejohn used his position to steal tax returns for Trump and leak them to media outlets like the New York Times.

He also stole tax returns belonging to thousands of the wealthiest Americans, according to the Justice Department.

Littlejohn was ordered to turn himself in by April 30th.
