New drive-thru AI technology coming to Wendy's

COLUMBUS - Wendy's is testing new artificial intelligence technology via GoogleCloud at numerous drive-thru locations in the Columbus area with hopes of improving order speed and accuracy. Basically how it works, is AI takes your order as soon as you pull up, then sends the information off to workers inside.

This proposed AI technology is more accurate than humans and it saves an average of 22 seconds on orders. Some customers and workers are embracing this technology although the change isn't entirely being welcomed by the Wendy's work crew. Other companies like White Castle and McDonalds are also testing this technology.

On average, Wendy's says, that the orders are accurate 86% of the time with some samples even exceeding 90% accuracy. AI will get sharper and sharper through repetition.
