U.S. F-16 fighter jet crashes off South Korea, pilot ejects and is rescued

A U.S. F-16 fighter jet crashed Monday off South Korea over the Yellow Sea while a routine training exercise was underway after the pilot ejected after experiencing an "in-flight emergency."

The pilot was recovered by the Republic of Korea Maritime Forces as the condition of the pilot was described as "awake and in stable condition." pending further evaluation at base.

South Korea's defense ministry declined comment on the incident.

Back in May, a U.S. F-16 jet crashed during a routine training exercise near a farming area just south of Seoul, South Korea. The pilot ejected safely and the accident caused no other casualties.
