Cleveland Police Receive Retention Bonuses

(Cleveland) The City of Cleveland's Department of Public Safety has announced the payment of retention bonuses for its police officers totaling $4.2 million. The money provided through a grant from the American Rescue Plan Act. Each active officer will receive $3500 paid out in two payments. In a statement, Director of Public Safety Karrie Howard said, “this retention bonus is a small token of appreciation and humble testimony to the value we place on our officers’ hard work and sacrifice.” Adding "the City of Cleveland and the Department of Public Safety recognizes the outstanding dedication and service of our officers, as we work to retain and recruit more members for our Cleveland Division of Police.”
