Michael Deemer, President & CEO from The Downtown Cleveland Alliance spoke to Bill about It is our last segment of 2023, so I wanted to share some highlights from the year - Looking Forward: So much to do in Downtown Cleveland - Snow Days - Do your holiday shopping Downtown

It is our last segment of 2023, so I wanted to share some highlights from the year:

  • Over $1 billion in investment has been completed or is underway.
  • Third quarter of 2023, Downtown Cleveland saw positive net absorption in the office market for the first time in five quarters. Workers are returning to the office at about 60% of pre-pandemic levels.
  • We had more activity this year than we have had Downtown since the pandemic. We reached 93% of pre-pandemic levels of activity among residents, visitors, & employees Downtown (February)
  • We ranked #1 in Ohio for economic recovery, according to two separate studies (Center City Philadelphia and the University of Toronto)
    • Downtown Cleveland ranked 6th in the country for visitor recovery and 7th in the country for non-resident workforce recovery.

AND

  • We produced the largest WinterLand Kickoff since before the pandemic.
    • Downtown Cleveland welcomed 181,600 people for WinterLand’s Tree Lighting Day and 34,000 visits were made to Public Square.
