Salmon Population Booming In The U.S.

The wild Atlantic salmon is having a boom year in the U.S.

Officials say the Penobscot River in Maine - a major 'salmon run' location - is seeing its highest population in more than a decade.

Pollution, loss of habitat, and overfishing have caused salmon populations to dwindle in recent years. Scientists hope this 2023 boom is a sign that those trends are reversing.
