The Guardians struggled early and fell to the Padres 6-3 in their series opener from San Diego. Tanner Bibee got the loss after surrendering all six runs on eight hits over four innings. Josh Bell slugged a solo shot for Cleveland, which dropped to 31-and-35. The Guardians are still second in the AL Central. Game two of the three-game set takes place tonight. Aaron Civale gets the start opposite Michael Wacha.
