A one-year-old boy was killed and nearly two dozen people are missing after a crowded riverboat capsized during an attack by a hippo.
Authorities in the African nation of Malawi say the hippo hit a boat carrying villagers across the Shire River to work in the fields.
14 people swam to safety but 23 are still reported missing.
It's not clear why the hippo attacked the boat, but hippos can be very aggressive, especially when protecting their young. Large females can weigh more than three tons.
About 500 people in Africa are killed by hippos each year.
