(Avon Lake) - Once again, the eagles Stars and Stripes, who have been nesting behind Redwood Elementary School for years, are parents. The first of three hatchlings erupted from its shell Wednesday morning at 6:45.

The other two eggs are expected to hatch soon. The eggs were laid in late February and early March. Eagle eggs take about 35 days to incubate, so the first hatching is right on time.

You can watch the nest on the live web cam.
