VIDEO: 11 East Cleveland Police Officers Indicted on Criminal Charges

CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mike O'Malley met with the media today and called attention to the East Cleveland Police Department. After a lengthy investigation into the police department. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O'Malley, Criminal Division Chief and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Gregory Mussman, and FBI Special Agent in Charge Gregory Nelsen announced the grand jury returned an indictment charging current and former East Cleveland police officers for violating civil rights and public corruption.

The FBI has set up a hotline. If you have any information about the conduct of the East Cleveland Police Department, you are asked to call 216.583.5343. Leave your name, number, and brief description of the alleged criminal activities.

In total, 11 East Cleveland police officers are facing being indicted, seven new officers, and four officers are re-indicted. Over the last seven months, 16 current and former ECPD officers have been indicted.

The East Cleveland officers listed in the first Indictment are listed below, along with their charges.

Overall there are 11 officers indicted over 11 total incidents that ranged from February 2020 to July 2022.

From June 2018 to July 2022, 16 officers have been indicted over 31 total incidents with a count of 17 victims.
