VIDEO: Parma Police High Speed Chase Ends in Crash

CLEVELAND - On January 10, 2023, at approximately 2:07 AM, a Parma Police officer drove through the Westview Acres apartment complex, checking the area for reported suspicious activity.

The officer observed two vehicles, later determined to be stolen, immediately trying to leave the area once the officer was sighted.

The two vehicles were described as a blue 2019 Hyundai Elantra and a copper-colored Kia SUV. Just before the officer’s arrival, the group in the Kia attempted to steal another vehicle within the complex while occupants of the stolen Elantra were standing by.

After seeing the officer, both vehicles fled at a high rate of speed from the complex as the officer initially pursued both vehicles. The Elantra had been reported stolen from Bedford, while the Kia was reported stolen out of Warrensville Hts. The vehicles split up at some point, and the officer continued to pursue the Hyundai Elantra. The pursuit ended with the Hyundai losing control and striking a utility pole in the 3800 block of W. 79th St. in Cleveland.
