Rich Strike won the Kentucky Derby as an 80-1 longshot - but he won't be winning the Triple Crown.

On Thursday, owner Rich Strike announced that Rich Strike would sit out next weekend's Preakness Stakes to focus on preparing for the Belmont Stakes.

Dawson said it was "tempting" to enter the Preakness, but decided to give Rich Strike more resting time for the Belmont on June 11th.

The Preakness Stakes will be run May 21st at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
