CLEVELAND - Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb pledged the support of his administration to helping Cleveland children in a city where almost one-in-two live in poverty

"Not many children in our city, particularly in Cleveland's east side, have the ability to have a home where they can get love, they can get three hot meals a day, and get the support they need to achieve their God-given potential," Bibb told the audience the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel at the 41st Annual Luncheon for Providence House.

The mayor also told the crowd he's the first Cleveland mayor to have a cabinet-level official, the Chief of Youth and Family Success, "to make sure we have stable neighborhoods all across the city."

Providence House broke ground on an east side campus in Cleveland's Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood, raising $10 million of the $20 million needed. It's the first time in two years Providence House held its luncheon in-person and the non-profit wanted to raised $93,000 in honor of founder Sister Hope's 93rd birthday this year.
