State Rep Wants To Name NE Ohio State Park For Trump

(Columbus) - A state lawmaker from Trumbull County is looking for co-sponsors for a bill to rename Mosquito Lake State Park as Donald J. Trump State Park.

Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Cortland) sent out a memo to other representatives, saying "this bill will help to honor the hard work that President Donald J. Trump did for ohio and the nation when he was in the White House."

Mosquito Lake State Park is a 7,000 acre park with camping and boating, and is on Mosquito Lake, which was created in the late 1930s when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built a dam on Mosquito Creek.

Rep. Mike O'Brien (D-Warren) told Youngstown's WKBN-TV that if you're going to change the name of the park, change it to someone who has ties to Trumbull County, such as President William McKinley, who as born in Niles.
