Not The Same Old Browns! Browns Beat Cowboys 49-38 for Third Straight Win

The Cleveland Browns extended their winning streak to three with a shootout win against the Dallas Cowboys. The Browns set the tone of the game when on the first drive a trick play resulted in a 37 yard passing touchdown from Jarvis Landry to Odell Beckham.

The Browns defense would then give up two passing touchdowns to Dak Prescott. The first touchdown was a 43 yard pass to rookie standout Cee Dee Lamb. The second a 20 yard pass to star wideout Amari Cooper to give The Cowboys a 14-7 lead going into the second quarter.

The second quarter however The Browns had an offensive explosion that resulted in 24 points for the Browns. The Browns defense held the Cowboys to zero points in the 2nd quarter. The first touchdown for the Browns in the second quarter was a four yard pass for Baker Mayfield to Odell Beckham. Later that quarter Baker would connect with Austin Hooper for a one yard touchdown. Kareem Hunt would add to the score with a two yard touchdown run and with no time left in the half, Browns kicker Cody Parkey would add a 44 yard field to give the Browns a 31-14 lead going into the half.

The second half was an interesting one. In the third quarter the Browns would add to their lead. With Kareem Hunts second touchdown of the game and adding a Cody Parkey Field goal to make the score 41-14.

The fourth quarter however would test the Browns. The Cowboys were down 41-14 entering the fourth quarter. The Cowboys would score three unanswered touchdowns and convert three straight two-point conversions to make the score 41-38 with 3:37 left in the game. The Browns had the ball at the 50 yard line. The Browns were able to pull away with a 50 yard rushing Touchdown by Odell Beckham. The extra point was blocked by the Cowboys but the Browns were able to recover the ball in the endzone for a two-point conversion to make the score 49-38 with 3:35 left in the game.

The Cowboys moved down the field running a no huddle offense with just minutes left. On first and goal for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott would be intercepted by the local product Denzel Ward to secure the Browns win, their third in a row.

With this win the Browns have won three straight and are 3-1 for the first time since 2001. The Browns look to make it four in a row this sunday as they take on the Colts at home. Gametime is 4:25.

Injuries and Headlines

Nick Chubb left the game with an apparent leg injury, Coach Kevin Stefanski said CHubb will undergo an MRI to see the extent of this injury.

Odell Beckham had a stand out game with three touchdowns.

Baker Mayfield now has two straight game without a turn over.

Jarvis Landry played the100th game of his career with this victory against Dallas.
