Rocky River Police Blotter: Thefts Galore

Rocky River -

On 02/03/2020 at about 12:35 PM construction workers at a Hilliard Blvd. site reported more tools stolen from the job site, which has been locked with no sign of forced entry. A prior report was made on 01/29/2020 for similar thefts. A Hilti cordless reciprocating saw was taken sometime between Friday 02/08/2020, evening and Monday, 02/03/2020, morning. There are no suspects. 

On 02/06/2020 at about 12:30 AM a Laurel Rd. resident reported a package was stolen from her front porch at about 11:02 PM on 02/05/2020. The missing package contained ranch salad dressing valued at about $14.00. The suspect was seen on video and appeared to be a black man wearing a baseball hat and light colored hoodie. He left in a white or silver SUV. Police are investigating. 

On 02/06/2020 at about 7:35 AM a caller reported the lock was broken off of his locker at Fitworks 20001 Center Ridge Rd. The caller reported that nothing was missing and declined a report. Later in the day, at about 12:50 PM, the manager reported three other lockers were broken into between 5:45 AM and 1:00 PM that day, one victim lost $200 cash. A report was taken and detective are investigating. 

On 02/08/2020 at about 11:55 AM a Winfield Ave. resident reported the theft of a snowblower from an unlocked garage. Neighbors with access to the garage did not borrow the snow blower or see anyone. Photos of footprints from the garage to the street were taken. Police are investigating. 

On 02/09/2020 at about 4:00 AM the clerk at Sunmart 20045 Lake Rd. reported an attempted theft and said the suspect left the store when confronted. Police located a man matching the description provided by the clerk on Lake Rd. at Avalon. The man, who at first refused to identify himself, was wanted by Parma police department for several offenses. A Glock handgun was found in the trunk of the car and several magazines in the passenger compartment. 23-year-old Christopher Hill of Parma was arrested for Attempted Theft, Obstructing Official Business, and Weapons Under Disability.  

On 02/09/2020 at about 11:40 AM a Riverwood Ave. resident reported two bicycles missing from the unsecured garage sometime over the last few days. The bikes, a 25" GT road bike and a children's Schwinn, were not registered. 

On 02/09/2020 at about 3:05 PM the manager of Firestone 21210 Center Ridge Rd. reported that they discovered the lock on a storage shed had been broken and tires missing. Staff was unable to determine the number of tires missing or their value. The theft occurred sometime the previous night.
