Mentor Key Bank Robbed At Gunpoint, Suspect In Custody

Mentor - A suspect is in custody following the robbery of a bank in Mentor Tuesday.

Mentor Police say the Key Bank located at 8405 Munson Road was robbed by a female with a handgun around 12:58 PM. 

Mentor Police located the suspect vehicle entering SR 2 westbound, where a pursuit ensued and was terminated shortly after for safety reasons. 

Wickliffe Police eventually located the vehicle and were able to deploy stop sticks. 

The suspect vehicle continued back eastbound on Interstate 90 where it eventually stopped near SR 91. 

28-year old Shannita M. Martin, from Cleveland, was taken into custody without incident. An undisclosed amount on money and the handgun were recovered. No one was injured during the robbery or the pursuit. 

Martin will be charged with Felony Aggravated Robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
