Bay Village Police Blotter: Lots Of OVI Arrests

On 01/18/2019, at 00:44 hours, an officer stopped a Ford Fusion on Wolf Road, near Oakmoor, for a traffic violation. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed clues that she might be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of abuse. After failing the field sobriety tests the 24-year old Bay Village resident was arrested for OVI. A male passenger was found to have a warrant with North Olmsted PD. The 22-year old male from Brooklyn, Ohio was arrested and turned over to a North Olmsted officer who arrived at the scene. The driver was processed at the police station and released on bond to a sober adult.

On 01/18/2019, at 17:57 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of a possible OVI operating a tan Pontiac. An off duty police officer was following the Pontiac. The vehicle was stopped on Lake Road, west of Dover Center Road. The officer spoke to the driver and suspected him to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of abuse. After failing the sobriety tests, the 47-year old Avon Lake resident was arrested for OVI. The driver was processed at the police station and released on bond to a sober adult.

On 01/19/2019, at 02:15 hours, an officer on routine patrol was following a Toyota westbound on Wolf Road, near Douglas, when he saw it drive onto the center lane, causing an eastbound vehicle to take evasive action. After the officer stopped the Toyota, he noticed that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of abuse.  The 42-year old Bay Village resident failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. She was processed at the police station before being released on bond to a sober adult.
