Local Federal Workers Affected by Shutdown Get Help

(CLEVELAND) Furloughed government workers are getting some help from local business and institutions. Here's a list of some that are helping.

Airbnb is offering extra money to Ohio federal employees who host an experience or three nights in their home until March 18. Hosts can earn up to an additional $110.

Burntwood Tavern is offering a free meal to all government employees every Tuesday. The offer begins Tuesday, January 22 and lasts until the shutdown ends. 

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is offering free admission to government employees with a valid government ID. Where: 1 Wade Oval Drive, Cleveland

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering free admission every Monday to government workers with a valid ID. Where: 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland

CORUS45 will offer affected workers and contractors three free workout classes, valued at $90.

Elements Bistro at Cleveland State will give forloughed employees can received a free entree from Jan. 22 to Jan. 25 when they present a valid government ID.

Firehouse in North Royalton is offering free meals to federal employees and their families. Just show your government ID.

Greater Cleveland Food Bank will offer free half-gallons of milk through January 30th.

Inner Bliss Yoga Studio is offering complimentary classes to federal workers Wednesday and Thursday at any of its three locations. Just show your government ID. Where: Inner Bliss, 1224 Huron Road, Cleveland; 19537 Lake Road, Rocky River; 29055 Clemens Road, Westlake

Lago: All federal employees can receive a free meal of pasta and meatballs at Lago on the East Bank of Cleveland's Flats. Just show your government ID. Where: 1091 W. 10th Street, Cleveland

The Rock Hall is offering free admission to workers impacted by the shutdown. Just show your government ID upon entry. Where: 1100 E. 9th St., Cleveland

Skyzone:  Federal employees and their families can get a free hour of jumping time at Skyzone in Westlake and Highland Heights Tuesdays through Thursdays. The offer is good for up to four people, just show your government ID. 

Stouffer's is handing out free frozen meals to federal employees at its Solon location. The giveaway started Wednesday morning and continues while supplies last. Where: 30003 Bainbridge Road, Solon

Urban Farmer at the Westin Hotel in Downtown Cleveland offers a free lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Friday for federal employees who present their government ID. Where: 777 St. Clair, Cleveland

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland will allow access to all federal employees who are current members. The YMCA will halt private payments and programming fees for those members during the shutdown.
