Rocky River Police Blotter: Man Stealing Health Items From Giant Eagle

Below are items of interest from the Rocky River Police Department that occurred between Tuesday, 01/08/2019, and Monday, 01/14/2019.

On 01/10/2019 at about 12:55 PM a woman reported her wallet was stolen while shopping at Whole Foods 19607 Detroit Rd. the day before and $7000 was charged on a credit card. There are no suspects and a police investigation continues.

On 01/10/2019 at about 5:05 PM police were dispatched to 2645 Wooster Rd. to investigate a reported hit-skip motor vehicle accident. The driver that fled the scene was operating a maroon minivan. A license plate was provided and a responding officer saw the car moments later on Hilliard Blvd. The vehicle was stopped at the Hilroc Condominium 18501 Hilliard Blvd. The driver, 59-year-old Richard Dorcsak of Rocky River, was eventually arrested for drunk driving, no driver license, and leaving the scene of an accident. 2019-00055 Incident and Booking are attached.

On 01/12/2019 at about 12:55 AM police responded to 21881 River Oaks Dr. to investigated a rollover motor vehicle accident. Officers arrived and discovered a Ford Escape SUV on its side after hitting a boulder on the tree-lawn. The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Elizabeth Novak from Rocky River, had a small cut on her hand but declined medical attention. She was cited for failure to control, driving over curbs, and driving under suspension. 2019-00062 Incident is attached.

On 01/12/2019 at about 8:10 AM an employee at Marc's Discount Store 21661 Center Ridge Rd. reported that the two hubcaps were removed from her Ford Focus while she was working on 01/10/2019 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. No arrests have been made.

On 01/14/2019 at about 7:00 PM Giant Eagle 22160 Center Ridge Rd. loss prevention staff reported seeing a man conceal health and beauty items. Staff recognized him as a man from prior theft offenses who was told he was not welcome in the store. Police arrived and arrested Peter Olgolo, a homeless 59-year-old man, for Theft and Criminal Trespass. Mr. Olgolo was also wanted by the Rocky River Municipal Court for prior Theft offenses. 2019-00080 Incident & Booking are attached.

On 01/14/2019 at about 11:35 PM police were dispatched to River Oaks Dr. after a report that a car went off the road. As reported, a 2010 Toyota sedan had left the road, striking a utility pole and fire hydrant. After an investigation the driver, 19-year-old Katelynn Leonard from Lakewood, was arrested for drunk driving and underage possession of alcohol. 2019-00081 Incident & Booking are attached.
