Vermilion High School Student Arrested

Vermilion - Multiple agencies, including the Erie County Sheriff and Vermilion Police Department have confirmed a 15-year-old high school student from Vermilion was arrested Tuesday under claims of sexual assault.

The sheriff's office, along with the police department, have charged the teen with multiple sexual assault charges that reportedly stem from multiple victims. 

It is believed some of the alleged assaults occurred on school grounds, while the rest took place at another location.

The school district, in a letter to parents regarding the incident, saying "We realize that these are serious and disturbing allegations and we are doing everything we can to ascertain the truth and respond accordingly." The district has also said the 15-year-old is suspended and will most likely be expelled.

The district also recommends any student who feels unsafe or sees an unsafe situation should tell a teacher or administrator or anonymously share the information via text or call to the SaferOh tip-line at 844-723-3764.
