CLE Orchestra Maestro, Trombonist, Terminated

Cleveland Orchestra

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Orchestra announced late Wednesday afternoon they have terminated the employment of Concert Master William Preucil, as well as first chair Trombonist Mossimo La Rosa, after an inter-organization investigation into multiple charges of sexual harrasment and inappropriate behavior with both female orchestra employees and music students.

The Orchestra says they interviewed 70 people during the course of that investigation, which began in late July, immediately after accusations against Preucil were first made public.  A spokesperson Wednesday describeded Preucil and La Rosa's behavior on the job as 'inappropriate, apalling and inconsistent' with expectations for all Cleveland Orchestra employees.
