Judge rules against Jeffrey Scullin

(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Pamela Barker ruled that Jeffrey Scullin's trial can move forward, and dismissed defense claims that the 21 year old was coerced into a confession by Strongsville police.

Judge Barker ruled that Jeffrey Scullin's rights were not violated when he was being questioned by officers about the murder of Melinda Pleskovic.

Scullin's attorneys maintained that investigators threatened him with the death penalty while in custody. The defense wanted that confession thrown out, before starting the trial.

The Strongsville school teacher was was murdered inside their home on Blazing Star Drive nearly one year ago. She was shot and stabbed to death.
