On 09/17/2018, at 02:30 hours, North Olmsted PD pursued a vehicle in their city after receiving reports that the occupant(s) had been breaking into vehicles on Wisteria Drive in their city. The plate given, listed to a Bay Village resident on Midland Road. An officer was dispatched to the residence where the vehicle owner was awakened and confirmed that his 2019 Jeep Cherokee had been taken without his knowledge. The owner said the Jeep had been left unlocked, with the key/remote inside. Several unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood were found to have been entered and ransacked, with various items of value taken.

On 09/21/2018, at 23:23 hours, officers were dispatched to a call of a male, wearing a blue shirt, without shoes, staggering near the intersection of Lake Road and Porter Creek Drive. This male was found to be highly intoxicated and so was arrested. The nineteen-year old Bay Village resident was processed at the station before being released on Personal Bond to a sober adult.

On 09/23/2018, at 04:43 hours, officers were dispatched to a home on Eaton Way on a report that about 30 minutes before an unknown male, wearing a white shirt, was seen walking east bound through the backyard. The homeowner sent his Great Dane to the sliding glass door at the east side of the home. The male must have seen the Great Dane through the glass as he suddenly took off running, went through a snow fence, damaging the metal pole support and then jumping over the six-foot stockade privacy fence. The owner then discovered that a screen had been pulled off a first floor window on the west side of the building. Several other homes in the neighborhood were found to have signs of attempts being made to gain entry. The Detective Bureau is continuing its investigations.
