Suspect In Metroparks Assault Arrested By Akron Police

AKRON - Akron Police have arrested a man wanted for attacking a jogger at the Cleveland Metroparks Garfield Park Reservation.

Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers says, on June 9th, 26-year-old Latrale Travis approached a 54-year-old woman on an exercise trail, grabbed her by the throat, and threatened to kill her if she said anything.

Travis reportedly covered the victims mouth and punched her in the head repeatedly. The women bit the suspect's finger and the man ran off toward the intersection of Chaincraft Road and Broadway Avenue.

He was also wanted for a similar incident in Cleveland's Union- Miles neighborhood, and is currently being held in Summit County Jail.
