Rocky River Police Blotter: The Slap Game

  • On 06/05/2018 at about 5:10 PM police responded to Giant Eagle 22160 Center Ridge Rd. after a call reporting a woman left the store without paying for merchandise. The woman, Christine Hanson, 55-years-old from Rocky River, had been apprehended by store security prior to police arrival. She was arrested for theft and possession of criminal tools. 
  • On 06/05/2018 at about 10:20 PM police responded to the Harbor Court 22900 Center Ridge Rd. after a complaint about a man sleeping in front of the building. The 38-year-old man from Parma told responding officers he was homeless, his feet hurt from walking all day, and that he was considering suicide. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
  • On 06/07/2018 at about 7:50 AM, police responded to a Hilliard Blvd. apartment after the resident, a 60-year-old woman, reported a burglary. Officers discovered the door lock broken and a television missing. Detectives processed the crime scene and are investigating. 
  • On 06/09/2018 at about 11:20 PM police responded to a party on Center Ridge Rd. after a call that a man was unconscious after being hit during an altercation. The man, a 22-years-old, was conscious and breathing when police arrived. He said he was playing the "slap game" with his friend, a 26-year-old man. The game consists of taking turns slapping each other. The injured man declined to press assault charges and was transported to hospital for evaluation. 
  • On 06/11/2018 at about 5:25 PM a River Oaks Dr. resident reported her car, a 2010 Chevy Cobalt, had been keyed sometime the night before. She has no suspect, but police are investigating.
  • On 06/11/2018 at about 7:35 PM police went to Fitworks 20001 Center Ridge Rd. after a complaint of thefts from patron lockers. Three lockers had been gone through and keys removed from each one. The keys were located outside the building. At the time of the report, nothing was reported missing from the lockers (beside the keys) or the cars in the parking lot. Police are investigating the thefts.
