A good day for establishment candidates?

(Berea) - Baldwin-Wallace University political science professor Dr. Tom Sutton is predicting a low to moderate voter turnout today, with about 20-to-25 percent of registered voters.

Dr. Sutton expects Jim Renacci to win the Republican nomination for Senate.

BW's Community Research Institute poll shows Renacci with 25% of the vote, Mike Gibbons with 11%, and the remaining candidates in the single digits.

Sutton feels Mike DeWine will get the GOP nod for governor, with his polling showing DeWine with a 52%-to-25% edge over Mary Taylor.

Sutton believes Richard Cordray will win the Democratic primary for governor. Cordray has a 16% lead over Dennis Kucinich, but a heavy Democratic voter tournout could cause a long-shot upset.

Dr. Sutton feels State Issue One, the anti-gerrymandering measure, will pass by a wide margin.
