Armed robber invades bank in Grafton

Grafton Ohio bank robbery

(Lorain County) - Today, at approximately 10:55 am, a lone white male robbed the Chemical Bank located at 351 North Main Street, Grafton, Ohio.

The unknown suspect entered the bank brandishing a black handgun and yelled for everyone to show their hands.  

The unknown suspect  proceeded to the manager’s office, pointed a gun at her and ordered her out of her office.  She complied with his demand. 

The suspect demanded large bills from three tellers.  The suspect paced in front of the teller counter as he counted backwards from 30.   

As he counted, the suspect put the gun in the faces of the tellers and threatened to shoot them.  

The victim tellers complied with the suspect’s demand for money.  No physical injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the bank possibly entering a blue Ford Escape parked in a nearby driveway.

Law enforcement is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for this bank robbery.  

Tips can remain anonymous and can be provided to the Cleveland Division of the FBI at 216-522-1400.  

Reward money is available for information that leads to the successful identification and prosecution of the individual responsible.
