(Cleveland) -- Twelve people are facing a host of charges, accused of stealing credit card information from thousands of northeast Ohioans.

The men, mostly from Florida, were indicted Tuesday in federal court after an investigation into the use of credit card skimmers on gas pumps.  Federal prosecutors say that over a three year period, the suspects stole credit card numbers, then used them to make counterfeit cards.

Skimmers were found in several northeast Ohio communities, including Cleveland, Solon, Rocky River, Stow, Hudson, Fairview Park, Medina, Canton, Cuyahoga Falls, Norton and Austintown.

Three of the men are still at large.  They are Joan Carlos Banos, 58, of Parma, Carlos Rodriguez Martinez, 42, of Aurora, Colorado, and Alejandro Moises, 52, of Miami.
