(WILLOUGHBY) - Thousands of people are signing a petition that asks the Willoughby-Eastlake School Board to put a stop to the removal of a cartoon confederate soldier as mascot of the South High School Rebels. The petition simply reads "We will not lose an iconic emblem to the 1%. Vote to keep the South High Rebel." The petitioner, who did not give their name, wrote that the names would be delivered to the school district if it reaches 5,000 signatures.
