The 2017 Civic Luncheon celebrates the Mission of The Salvation Army. This year, all proceeds raised will directly support our Learning Zone Program for at risk youth. The Learning Zone is an after school program that provides meaningful opportunities for learning, resulting in academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth in children and their families. It is an ODJFS licensed program that helps identify children who are a year behind academically and not performing at their grade level. Children enrolled in our Learning Zone program receive tutoring and reading assistance, help with homework, and a safe space to learn. It gives students the personal attention needed to build key skills and bring them up to their grade level. In addition to raising critical funds to support the Learning Zone, this event also provides us with an opportunity to honor our loyal volunteers including WTAM’s Bill Wills and corporate partners.
