(Cleveland) - A letter of intent has been signed as Robinson Health System Inc. looks to become part of University Hospitals. Robinson Memorial Hospital, located in Ravenna, is a 117-bed hospital serving Portage County. Robinson Health System also operates an urgent care facility and multiple outpatient centers throughout Portage County as the county's second largest employer.

U-H now employs over 25,000 Northeast Ohio residents. They recently integrated Elyria Memorial Hospital and Parma Community General Hospital, and now total 14 hospitals and 26 outpatient health centers throughout the region. The letter of intent signifies the beginning of an evaluation process expected to take 4 to 6  months, and they hope to reach a final agreement by the end of May.
