(Columbus)- A condemned killer from Cleveland is getting support in his request for mercy.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty has asked the Ohio Parole Board to commute Arthur Tyler's death sentence to life without parole.

Tyler is scheduled to be executed next month for killing a Cleveland produce vendor in 1983.

He has asked for clemency, because a second man admitted to being the killer.
