(Cleveland) - Crews are putting the finishing touches on Cleveland's newest waterfront dining experience, Merwin's Wharf, opening soon on the East Bank of the Flats.
Cleveland Metroparks' exciting new full-service restaurant features eclectic décor and a 3,000 square foot landscaped patio with firepit and fireplace overlooking the scenic Cuyahoga River at Irishtown Bend. It is the perfect place for family and friends to relax, gather and eat thoughtfully made creative cuisine.
Merwin's Wharf is in the Cleveland Metroparks Rivergate Park at 1785 Merwin Ave. The cost of the project is $1.4 million. The restaurant is expected to open at the end of July and is likely to attract both visitors to Cleveland and become a hangout for downtown residents.
The menu will feature classic American foods, from locally grown produce and farms.
It will continue the tradition of one of the Flats' earliest tavern owners, Noble Merwin, who arrived in Cleveland in the early nineteeth century.
Merwin's Wharf is part of the 2.8 acre Rivergate Park that Cleveland Metroparks acquired in 2012.
Merwin's Wharf is located at 1785 Merwin Ave. in Cleveland's industrial Flats neighborhood. From I-90, exit at West 25th Street and go north to Washington Ave. Turn right on Washington Ave. and then right on Center Street to Columbus Road.
