(Cleveland) - Cleveland Police are looking for the mother of two babies who were abandoned Wednesday at a downtown shelter.
The woman, identified by Cleveland Police as Alisha Houston, 31, checked in to the Salvation Army's Harbor Light facility on Prospect Ave. about 2 a.m. and was found to have abandoned the one-year-old boy and three-week-old girl in the room.
Facility staff had the children taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for evaluation, and they are now in custody of Children and Family Services.
Cleveland Police have issued a warrant for Houston's arrest on charges of felony child endangering because the children were left unattended, and due to injuries of one child determined during medical examination.
Anyone with information as to Houston's whereabouts is asked to call Cleveland Police at 216-623-5630.
